free crochet and knitting pattern crochet guide

If you know how to crochet or are just learning how to crochet, chances are you are going to be making a baby blanket. When buying yarn always make sure you choose balls of yarn with the same dye lot or dye batch number.

I have known three housewives who have gone into crocheting, first as a hobby, and then into business, making sweatshirts, shawls and pillowcases in different designs and different colors. Colors in soft, fuzzy materials provide a diversion to the cold, hard and glaring screens of your office computers that you have been staring at for the whole day. Crochet is a series of interlocking loops of thread onto a chain using a thin rod with a hook at the end.

The average crochet hook is six inches, but Afghan hooks come in 9, 14, and 20 inch lengths. Many of these crochet magazines provide information on where to purchase crochet equipment and patterns too. You may want to consider an all natural blend, or if you are looking at synthetic yarns, get a blend of the two, which will have the benefits of both synthetic and natural.

Have fun and don't give up to soon when you learn to crochet. Take your time and concentrate on your technique.
